I did cartwheels under the moonlight

Read to avoid living in a state of numbness.

It was 4 am.

I was leaving a dance party with some friends.

As we were walking on the road I saw the moon shining over the ocean... It was full.

I mentioned we should walk on the beach and go look at the moon. But no one wanted to.

They wanted to go to the pool. (Lame, I know)

At first, I kept walking. Fine I thought.

But the more we walked the more I kept seeing it.

And the more I kept feeling this unshakeable pull to walk into the ocean under the full moon.

I saw an opening... I said “YO! I'm going to the beach! Let's go!”

Reluctantly they started walking with me.

A few still didn't want to go. But my friend Medute started following me.

We were so mesmerized by the moon we couldn't stop walking towards it.

Like zombies we walk to shore, drop all our shit, and get in the water.

The ocean was sparkling in the moonlight. The reflection of the light was hitting the waves as they crashed onto shore.

Like kids, we danced in the moonlight and did cartwheels in the sand.

It was a beautiful moment.

Afterwards my friend tells me,

"Wow. I can't believe I didn't want to come. Idk why I didn't but I'm so glad you did. I just saw you walking so I followed you."

Would I be writing about this if we had just gone to the pool?

Would that night be as memorable?

This post isn't about full moons…

Many times you get ideas or urges.

You tell people around you and they call you crazy. They say nah that's dumb. Just do this.

But there's a voice inside of you telling you otherwise...

An insatiable urge to go in another direction.

When you let those external voices win and don't follow your inner voice you will ALWAYS live with regret. A big WHAT IF.

Maybe your idea isn't good... so what?

At least you tried and you know.

But if you stop yourself from living true to yourself because of what others say you'll never find your way.

You'll keep living a life in accordance with others but never your own.

Many times you have to be willing to walk the path alone...

If not you'll never find what you're looking for. (Even if you don't know exactly what that is).

But when you lead with your intuition and follow your path, other people WILL follow.

You'll attract the people that resonate with you and what you're about. You'll find your tribe. Because being authentically you is what attracts (and repels) the most.

Never stop listening to that voice. If you ignore it long enough it WILL go quiet. It'll frizzle away. It’ll be so soft you won’t be able to hear it anymore. And you’ll live in a perpetual state of numbness.

Weak. Unempowered. Resentful. Regretful.

So take that risk. Quit that job. Move to a different country. Do cartwheels under the moonlight.

You only have one life…

Don’t stop yourself from living just because of what someone else's idea of life is supposed to look like.

Create your OWN.

Follow your curiosities. Follow your intuition. Follow your voice. Follow the things that set your soul on fire.

This is the way. This is how you live a life that's truest to you. This is how you live a life that is in alignment with your highest self.

This is how you allow the universe to light up the path FOR YOU.

Hope you enjoyed.
