The #1 trait you need for success

No... it's not swagger. Even though that helps

Yo.

I’m sitting on a rooftop kitchen in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas.

It’s 8:28 AM.

I just got done doing some yoga. Stretching. And mandatree pull-ups on a ladder.

Tbh, I’m not entirely sure what mandatree pull-ups are. I just heard it from Solbrah.

I thought it was doing pull-ups on a tree… but then I saw people doing pull-ups on random things.

Anyways.

There’s a really nice, cool breeze right now. I’m really high up in the mountains. 2,200m to be exact.

It’s extremely peaceful. I got a little beanie on… I can hear birds chirping. The random rooster crow. A few cars in the distance… the wind blowing, and a German girl chit-chatting with her fam (I think).

Other than that, I can feel the piercing silence and tranquility of this place.

You know… I used to get upset when people were talking, playing music, being loud, etc. while I was trying to enjoy the moment.

But a few weeks ago in San Jose, I was doing a Temazcal with Paco. One of the OG Temazcaleros of our time.

And while we were prepping the fire (which in itself is a ritualistic process),

there were some construction workers neary blasting Mexican music, laughing, constructing…

And in my mind, they were disrupting the sacredness of what we were trying to do.

But when I asked Paco if the music was messing with the energy, he immediately said

‘No! para nada. Es bueno tener gente feliz alrededor. Es buena energia’

(If you don’t speak Spanish, he basically said that it’s good to have happy people around. It brings good energy)

Hm. I thought. I never thought about it like that…

And this really made me realize how powerful our perspective is.

How much our reality is shaped by things we believe to be true.

So lately…

Idk what it is… but things seem to be going right.

I’m doing less, but more is happening.

I’ve signed two new clients this past week, totaling $3,400 (all inbound).

My Twitter engagement has skyrocketed. And I’ve gained over 300 followers in just a few days.

This might not sound like a lot. But when I was stuck at < 500 followers and ~$2k MRR for months…

it feels pretty nice to have things pick up.

But tbh… I’m not surprised.

I always knew this would happen. This is what I was expecting.

You hear it all the time… When it rains, it pours.

Nothing happens… then it all starts to happen.

I was never stressed, worried, or scared things wouldn’t work out.

I knew all I just had to keep going and everything would eventually fall into place.

And guess what… that’s exactly what’s happening.

I recently made a tweet about this. And someone called this to my attention…

The law of assumption by Neville Goddard:

The law of assumption is a philosophy proposed by Neville Goddard. Goddard maintained that what we assume to be true, we call into our reality. The law of assumption uses imagination as the catalyst for realizing our dreams and aspirations. It says that what we can imagine, we can create.

Google

So… how can you apply this to what you’re doing?

Basically, you need to assume the best possible outcome in every situation.

Assume everyone is your friend.

Assume the business you’re starting will work

Assume that girl is yours.

Assume everything will go RIGHT.

Seriously. I can’t even tell you how powerful this is…

Imagine you walk up to a girl… and you’re in your head assuming she doesn’t like you.

(If you’re a girl reading this then maybe you’re walking up to make friends)

If you expect the worst, you won’t be confident, you’ll stumble over your words, second guess what you say, etc… given you even go up to her.

But if you ASSUME she’s already yours (delusional? maybe),

think of how different your approach will be.

Confident. Relaxed. Not worried about the outcome… because you already know it.

I’m serious. This applies to everything. Clients. Friends. People on the street.

It’s a fucking game-changer.

And no. This doesn’t mean you can just assume, sit back, relax, and wait for things to happen.

Work is the driving force behind all of this.

Showing up every day. Having discipline. Constantly improving your skills, etc.

But behind all of this work… you’re assuming it’s all going to pay off.

Never once do you think… fuck.

What if everything I’m doing is for nothing?

What if this doesn’t work out?

What if I fail?

That is the surest way to guarantee failure.

Just by thinking it’s never going to work… you’ve actually created that outcome.

Maybe this comes with a bit of delusion…

maybe people will call you crazy.

But if you assume everything will work…

and you’re willing to keep going for a ridiculous amount of time…

then it’s just a matter of time until it does.

So book that flight.

Quit your job.

Start that biz.

Everything you’ve ever wanted is already yours.

Go get it.

Mau

PS.

I know I only talk about big ideas here… and tbh it’s the most important.

There is so much info out there on how to learn copywriting, get clients, etc., and people who can explain it a lot better than me. Once you fully commit, the right resources/guides will show up to help you get where you want to go.

Just be open and look out for the signs…

But, if you really want to learn how I personally write, land clients, travel, and live the life I do, shoot me a reply. Tell me who you are, where you’re at in your journey, and why you want to do this. If I think it’s a fit, I’ll shoot you my calendar.

Cheers
